Hunters use latest gear

As for hunters, many have taken to local outfitters in preparation for this year's hunt.   Those at Scheel's say they've seen steady foot traffic and say the snow seems to be helping those looking to take down a big cat this year.

But besides your typical hunting gear, managers say there's one gadget that seems to be gaining in popularity.   Hunting manager Steve Lothspeich says, "   One of the things that has been working very well, from what I hear, is electronic predator calls. You almost need to have one of them, if not, if you're a great hand caller, then that works too. I would recommend having both."   Workers say another popular item these past few days has been snow camouflage.   The mountain lion season runs through the end of March or until the quota of 100 total lions or 70 females is reached.
