Chief Warden says he'll retire

Doug Weber says he's retiring as director of prison operations and chief warden for the South Dakota Department of Corrections in June of next year.  Weber has been with the South Dakota State Penitentiary for more than 32 years, starting as a correctional officer.

He was named warden in 1996 and chief warden of all adult institutions three years later.Weber will retire as the second longest serving warden in the history of the Penitentiary.Warden G. Norton Jameson oversaw the prison from 1938 to 1963.
