The fundraiser began in mid November and will finish up by the end of next week. Third grader Emily Barlow says, "This fundraiser started with a math unit called for class collection of 1000. We used 1000 pennies. The purpose of the fundraiser is to help animals in need of food and shelter." Third grader Emma Berg says, "Two kids from our class had to go around the school to collect money. After that we all counted. It is a spectacular project." Third grader Aubrey Sumner says, "The third grade class collects all ... does all the counting and collecting of the monies. This helps us with our math skills and also helps animals. This is a win/win." The class has a goal to raise $1,000 dollars, as of Tuesday they were at $743. The class will present the Humane Society with a check on December 21st.
