SD ranchers seeing higher cattle prices
Sunday, 09 December 2012 15:26
South Dakota's ranchers have been seeing higher cattle prices over the past few weeks. The price increases for cattle appear to be the positive side of a wave of speculation in the commodities market that's been taking place for over a year.

On the Chicago Board of Trade feeder cattle prices have risen over three percent in the last month. The reason appears to be lower grains prices.  Corn has dropped about one percent over the past month.  Wheat has dropped over six percent.  The price drops appear to be the result of a profit-taking sell-off after record grain prices this past summer.
