Hundreds of wrestlers from 35 schools around the region made their way to Rapid City for one of the larger tournaments in the state of South Dakota.
Action began with grapplers looking to battle their way into the weekend. Let's head over to the Civic Center...we'll start things off in the 127 pound weight class.-----A local matchup between Douglas's Col,ton Hitchu and Stevens' Ryan Krebs. Hitchu gets away for the escape but Krebs walks away with it in the end 7-3.-----On to a 182 match up between Thomas Mylar of Casper and Pierre's Wylan Baker. Mylar gets two for the take down.-----In the second period Mylar gets another two points the same way as Baker started to tire.-----Onto the third period Mylar seals the deal with two points for the reverse. He would go on to win the match 7-2.-----195 pounds, Douglas's Ean Malone and Central's Cameron Goodrich. Goodrich gets 2 points for the take down to put him up 4-1.-----Later in the match Goodrich gets a point for the escape. He was too much in the end Goodrich wins 7 to 2.The Rapid City Invitational continues through tomorrow. |
