Calista Kirby, Miss South Dakota for 2012, held what is sometime called a "trunk show". A trunk show reveals what is in her trunk as she prepares to head for Las Vegas. Kirby took part in the trunk show at the Sturgis Armory this afternoon to help raise money for the Miss America and Miss South Dakota events.

     Calista Kirby says, "I get to travel throughout the state for an entire year representing my platform: Stay Well, Get Well, American Cancer Society. But also representing the organization as a whole. The Miss South Dakota organization is amazing in the fact that it empowers young women to achieve their dreams and their goals." Miss South Dakota, Calista Kirby, is from Brookings and won the 2012 Miss South Dakota pageant held this year in Hot Springs. She will be competing in the Miss America pageant on January 12th of next year in Las Vegas.
