Local hotel gives truckloads of donations to YFS

A Rapid City hotel is helping out Youth and Family Services in a big way - several truckloads to be more specific. Workers spent most of the morning on Thursday loading two floors worth of donated furniture from downtown Rapid City's Adoba Eco Hotel into a truck to be taken back to the YFS main office across town.

Both the furniture and the use of the Allied Van Lines truck were donated to YFS free of charge. YFS says the large influx of furniture will then be donated to area families in need.

YFS Development Director Connie Olson says, "I think the one thing we know is we have to partner with the community to meet the needs of the children and families we serve, and this is a tremendous gift. I think whether people can support us financially or through their donations, it makes a huge impact on the families we serve."

YFS says they're always accepting donations from the community to support their various programs. Some of the items they say they need at the moment are educational kids' toys, children's clothing, diapers and school supplies.
