That question will finally be answered on Thursday. Rounds is making his formal announcement  regarding his intentions for the 2014 U-S Senate race .Rounds has press conferences scheduled  in Rapid City, Pierre and Sioux Falls.

Rounds served as governor of South Dakota from 2003 to 2011 and earlier spent ten years as a state senator. He earlier formed a committee to explore a run for the U-S Senate seat now held by Tim Johnson. Rounds has been working as president and CEO of an insurance and real estate business since he left office.
