The cost of a Thanksgiving meal print

A new study undertaken by the Farm Bureau Federation has tallied up the cost of a family Thanksgiving meal for this year.   And it will likely come as no surprise to many of you that the cost of some items has gone up.  For example, a 16 pound turkey cost $22.23 this year compared to $21.57 last year.

And the price of a dozen dinner roles also rose three cents this year.  But the cost of nearly everything else on the traditional Thanksgiving menu has actually gone down.  The federation's study shows the prices of pumpkin pies, green peas, cranberries, milk, stuffing, whipped cream and sweet potatoes have gone down from less than one percent to more than six percent.
