Knights of Columbus serve Thanksgiving meal

Across town, another group has been putting in some long hours the last couple of days getting ready for their big Thanksgiving Day meal.   The Knights of Columbus feeds hundreds of people in Rapid City every year, and this year the Knights served their big meal at St. Thomas More.

The volunteers estimate that they fed about five hundred people today.  It was a meal that was donated by dozens of businesses in Rapid City, and prepared by dozens of volunteers. Jeffrey Meyer says, "The reason why I do it is that I'm honored and I'm blessed to be able to serve these fine people right here. They're the most gracious quests you'll anywhere at any Thanksgiving dinner. And we're happy to be here."    The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest fraternal service organization.   It promotes Catholic education and humanitarian efforts in local communities.
