Wilson Park shines during holiday season

A Rapid City park is all aglow with the holiday spirit. This is the fourth year that businesses along Mount Rushmore Road have decorated Wilson Park for the holiday season.

Rapid City Mayor Sam Kooiker flipped the switch Tuesday evening to light up the park. The president of the Mount Rushmore Road Group, Debra Jensen, says it takes thousands and thousands of lights to decorate the park but it's worth all the work.

Jensen says, "It's such a sense of pride. This is such a beautiful little park and often times it's kind of forgotten because it's so tiny, but as you go along Mount Rushmore Road, if you're a resident you get to see these beautiful lights, if you're coming to or from work, maybe you're at the hospital and you get to see the brightness of the lights, also if you are a visitor to the area, what a wonderful greeting as you come into the city."

You can take a walk through Wilson Park and check out all the Christmas lights through January 1st.
