Bomb Threat in Hot Springs
Tuesday, 20 November 2012 12:11
Investigations continue into a bomb threat that forced the evacuation of more than 800 students in Hot Springs on Tuesday.

School administrators say writing was found on a wall in the district's Case Auditorium, which is connected to Hot Springs Elementary School and next to the middle school and high school. Officials say the writing warned of a bomb in one of the schools. Students were immediately evacuated and police were called.

After a full search, which included bomb-sniffing dogs, the all clear was given at 3 this afternoon .High School principal Mary Weiss says given the situation, the evacuation and search went smoothly. Weiss says, "We do work on it with the teachers and the students and we have drills throughout the year. We haven't had one this year, so I guess this really had us open our eyes to what we do need to change, but otherwise it went really smooth. All the parents were really cooperative when they had to pick up their students."

Students in Hot Springs will not return to class until next week,  following the Thanksgiving holiday.Principal Weiss says investigations into who wrote the threatening message will continue.
