The land the tribes call Pe' Sla is important to their creation story. Rapper P-Diddy and actress Bette Midler have tweeted their support for the effort to purchase nearly 2,000 acres in the Black Hills of South Dakota. They join actor Ezra Miller and hip-hop producer Sol Guy, who appeared in a recent video online drawing attention to the effort. Tribes of the Great Sioux Nation must raise $9 million dollars by the end of the month to buy the land in the Black Hills. They have raised $7 million dollars so far. Associated Press |
