The accident happened July 1st as crews battled the White Draw Fire in the Southern Hills. The accident investigation report released Wednesday said the C-130 air tanker crashed because the North Carolina crew made an ``inadequate assessment'' of conditions and flew into a microburst which is a narrow wind gust that rushes downward out of a thunderstorm. Four of the six crew members died in that crash. -Zach Nugent |
