Best-selling author donates time to WAVI

A best-selling author and world-renowned speaker donated his time to benefit Working Against Violence, Inc."An Evening with Dave Pelzer" took place in Rapid City. 

Dave Pelzer is best known for his autobiographical series beginning with "A Child Called It" which moves through his life of childhood abuse and foster care.Pelzer signed books earlier Tuesday and gave a presentation to benefit WAVI.  WAVI Executive Director Mary Corbine says, "WAVI works to create a community free of domestic violence and sexual assault through advocacy, education, and support services and so this is one way we can help reach our mission by education the community, doing some awareness and also having an amazing person here speaking."  One hundred percent of the proceeds from the event will benefit WAVI's programs and services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.  Also, Books-A-Million is donating a portion of Pelzer's book sales to WAVI.
