The folks at Toyota of the Black Hills had an unexpected visitor Wednesday morning: an eastern screech owl. Employees say that the owl had flown and slammed into the bay doors on the outside of the dealership. The guys at Toyota knew that the owl was hurt so they put in a call to Maggie Engler with the Black Hills Raptor Center to get the bird some help.

Engler did a quick examination and determined that the owl had no broken bones but had suffered a head injury.

Engler says, "This guy needs a chance to recover from his headache. It would be like the worst migraine a human being had ever experienced. He'll get to sit quietly in a far back corner in a box with ventilation holes probably for most of the day and we'll bring him out and attempt to release him about dusk which is the time that owls get active."

Engler says the field behind the Toyota dealership is a perfect owl habitat and that is the area where she planned on releasing him.
