Election volunteers

Some people got their voting out of the way early but others have chosen to wait until the day of.

Election Day is here and herds of people headed out to the polls to cast their vote. Election volunteers say the polls saw the most voters in the early morning with foot traffic dying down in the afternoon.

Johanna Denker says this is the most people she's seen vote in nearly a decade.Denker says, "Foot traffic is the heaviest I've ever seen it in probably 10 years that I've helped out with elections. It was a line for the first hour and it's been steady ever since."

Denker says about one-thousand people showed up to vote at South Middle School.Polls are open until 7 tonight.
