Ski areas prepare for season

They haven't started skiing yet, but the new snow in the Black Hills has people thinking about hitting the slopes once again.  The Northern Hills winter sports area got about two inches of snow over the past several days, marking the first significant snowfall of the season, and providing a little inspiration for the staff members at the two ski slopes; Mystic Miner and Terry Peak.

The management at Terry Peak says they will add to the snow presently on the ground by starting up the snow-making machines on Monday.  Timmy Leppert says, "We put an additional quad over on the Empress. So we're all pretty exited about that. So we're hoping that Mother Nature keeps delivering. We plan to start making snow this weekend. So we're off to a good start."   The snow that fell over the past few days will probably be gone by the middle of next week.  But staffers say the mood created by the snow is the thing.   It gets people thinking about skiing once again.
