Folks in Rapid City today got the inside line on energy savings and utility conservation.
It's called Energy Efficiency Awareness Day and it was hosted at the Rushmore Mall in cooperation with Black Hills Power, Montana–Dakota Utilities, and the City of Rapid City.
A handful of booths were on hand to offer advice and answer any questions regarding ways to save money on utility bills.
Black Hills Power says making your home more efficient is as easy as ever with new consumer technologies available to homeowners.
Mutch Usera of BHP says, "There are savings tremendously when it comes to your homes and replacing light bulbs. That's just one type of technology. Simple technologies as well, from heating and cooling, your water heating, your electricity or gas, the efficiency ratings are so high today, you can see up to 20% to 30% on your saving with high efficiency water heating, even."
Usera says there are a number of resources available for homeowners looking to up their home's efficiency and finding them is as easy as visiting the websites of Black Hills Power, Montana–Dakota Utilities or even the City of Rapid City's website.
