Rapid City gets a taste of Oktoberfest

And Rapid City got its own taste of the German Oktoberfest spirit.  It's called Bierborse and it took over downtown's Main Street Square for the second year a row.  The beer-themed festivities featured homebrew demonstrations and tastings and even some polka music to set the mood.

The Rushmore German Club says it's all about bringing a slice of German culture to downtown Rapid City.

Travis Brink of the Rushmore German Club says, "Exactly, people are here for a good time, to have fun and just socialize. The Germans have a word for that called 'gemuetlichkit' and that's just a sense of well being and cozyness, good celebration and we try to promote 'gemuetlichkit.'

And to top it all off Bierborse visitors could get their fill of German bratwurst fresh off the grill.
