A well-known Black Hills photographer has just come out with a new book of photographs examining another well-known area in the west.  Paul Horsted's new book, Yellowstone, Yesterday and Today, will be coming to booksellers soon.

One could say that Paul Horsted became famous in the Black Hills area by producing a series of books about Black Hills area history, the Custer expedition to the Black Hills in particular.  Black Hills area residents and history buffs found them fascinating. They compared old photographs to new ones taken from the same spot in the Black Hills Area.  Now Paul Horsted is taking a similar approach to Yellowstone National Park.  While, for the first time, Paul has chosen a subject outside western South Dakota, he's also chosen one that is much beloved by most Americans  .Yellowstone Park is visited by more than three million people every year. It was the world's first national park. And the idea was such a good one that national parks have been established all over the world.  Paul's new book pictures some of the most beloved of the things that Yellowstone is famous for; Old Faithful, the Old Faithful Inn, Yellowstone Falls, Yellowstone Lake, and all the Park's wildlife.  Along with the photographs, there's the fascinating history of the Park that included people who later would become instrumental in the development of the Black Hills.  You can learn more about Paul Horsted's new book, Yellowstone: Yesterday and Today, by going to dakotaphoto.com, or paulhorsted.comPaul is hoping to attract a whole new, nationwide audience to his collections of photographs about the outdoors, and the special places of the west.
