Sunday, 30 September 2012 21:00
Summer is coming to a close for the four famous faces of the Shrine of Democracy. The season's last lighting ceremony was held at Mount Rushmore National Memorial Sunday evening. Starting in October, the sculpture will be lit at dusk for one hour nightly. The Lincoln Borglum Visitor Center and Information Center will shift to their fall operating hours of 8 to 5 Monday, and the sculptor's studio will be open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. through Oct. 14, and will then close until next year. -Associated Press
