It's long been said that South Dakotans are very generous people and that definitely proved to be true at South Dakota's National Philanthropy Day Awards in Rapid City.  Thursday,  the South Dakota Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals celebrated National Philanthropy Day.

Erv and DeMaris Neshiem of Hill City were honored as this year's Outstanding Philanthropists; described as "people of generosity and hope."   Erv and DeMaris Neshiem say, "Perhaps we've made people think a little bit about what they could do, it doesn't have to be monetary, it can be just the way they volunteer their time and efforts and it can be very small and mean an awful lot to some person."   Also at the awards; the City of Wall received Outstanding Philanthropic Community.
