The 162 thousand square foot building brings with it about 300 new jobs but above all store management says it brings more convenience to local shoppers. Store Manager Andy Pfister says, "It's going to be a better customer experience for both stores so we'll have two new offerings to offer Rapid City in the north store and the south store and it'll be very exciting for the community." The Rapid City Chamber of Commerce says the new Wal-Mart is the first step to opening up a whole new area of growth on Rapid City's south side. Rapid City Chamber President Linda Rabe says, "I see it growing exponentially with the Catron Boulevard and now all these new shops, it's exciting to see the new strip mall coming in right next to it and see who will fill those slots. I was by the other day and they built a new Arby's out here and it was already packed." Walmart management says renovations on the north side location also kicked off Wednesday.
