As we get ourselves wired for the start of the South Dakota high school football season later this week, we might as well set the bar high for this year's varsity squad by taking a look back at the best plays from last year's season in this week's edition of the FOX's Finest.
Little Wound tangling with Chamberlain, Anthony Hopkins fires to Tanner Running Hawk who picks up 65 yards on the play, but to no avail as the Cubs get the win.
Phillip in action against New Underwood. Philips' Cody Reeder takes it right up the gut and sprints 80 yards for the game tying touchdown. But it's the Tigers picking up the 4 point win.
Spearfish hosting the Stevens Raiders and the Spartans hangin' tough with plays like this one, Nate Rotert hurdles one would be tackler and then trucks the next on his way to a 15 yard pick up.But the Raiders hold of Spearfish 14-to-12.
Cavs and the Spartans, tied at 7, Jake Sullivan lays it out to KJ Rech with the beautiful one-handed grab for the touchdown and a 13-7 lead. Nice extension, great concentration for a big-time effort. The Cavaliers edge the Spartans to open the season 25-to-20.
Saint Thomas More and Custer, Cavs pinned on their own 10, Jake Sullivan buys enough time for him to connect with KJ Rech, Rech gets stripped around midfield, but Jeremy Henderson is right there to scoop it up and takes it the rest of the way. A 90 yard touchdown play as the Cavaliers roll.42-nothing.
