Meade County Fair moves closer to bee

Across the road from the Sturgis Airport is a portion of land that is being used this weekend for the Black Hills Steam and Gas Threshing Bee, and is also one of the locations for the Meade County Fair.

Meade County officials have decided to move many of the Fair exhibits to the Threshing Bee grounds to take advantage of the crowds, and to give fair-goers an opportunity to expand their fair experience, including a parade. Vonda Andersen says, "Yes, There's more of a crowd that walks through and sees the exhibits. And so we thought that might be something to help both of them expand their numbers." The Meade County Fair's livestock judging and show is still located at the livestock barns next to Sturgis High School, many of the 4-H events took place there Friday.
