Volunteers stuff care packages for deployed servicemen

In honor of Military Appreciation Day, the Jack Daniels Company hosted the 17th Annual USO stuffing party to construct care packages for troops overseas. The first group got started around 9 a.m. Tuesday, with other groups continuing the work though the evening.

The morning's first groups of volunteers were service men and women from Ellsworth Air Force Base. USO representative Steve Ibarra says they're sending about 10,000 care packages overseas to Afghanistan.

Ibarra says, "Items like deodorant, tooth paste, razors, a few snacks, a few periodicals. Things that we think the troops need and actually some things that they've requested."

Ibarra says the troops should have the care packages in their hands by the end of this month.
