Some of the most prominent names connected with the Sturgis Rally got in line at the Historic Franklin Hotel for the Legends Ride motorcycle run Monday. The Legends Ride has become one of the premiere events at the Sturgis Rally. The Legends Ride was started to raise funds for two charities; the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and the Black Hills Special Olympics. The promoters of the Legends Ride say they have raised more than $200,000 since the ride began.

Rod Woodruff, with the Buffalo Chip, has been one of the main forces behind the ride and its fund-raising efforts.

Woodruff says, "Fifty percent of all the rider's contributions go to the Special Olympics. And last year's contributions that you guys made, went for the down payment on a bus that was delivered last week."

This is the fifth Legends Ride and more than 450 bikers took part.
