Lawnmore "sculpture" celebrates rally week

One Rushmore Road business is getting ready for the Sturgis Rally in their own way, a way that's become a bit of a tradition there. You can call it a sculpture or you can call it a pile, but employees of Willy's Saw Shop stacked about 200 lawn mowers up in front of the store this week. They've been doing it for the past few years, but had to skip last year because they were too busy.

But they're back with a vengeance this year with the most mowers yet.

Michael Erickson says, "The bikers seem to enjoy it, as do the other tourists. It's also a way for us to clean our backyard, take inventory. Everything will be moved back into the boneyard within the month. It's kind of a fun thing to do after working on mowers all summer long. We like to take out a little frustration and throw a few of them around."

Don't worry, it's not a permanent part of the landscape. Michael says the mowers will come back down and head back to the backyard.
