State swimmers cap off season at Horace Mann
Sunday, 29 July 2012 15:01
While most of us take a dip in the pool to cool off during the dog days of summer there are those who take swimming a lot more seriously. And Sunday out at the Horace Mann Pool those dedicated swimmers hit the water one last time to see who is the state's best.

We're going to start it off with the boys 8 and under 100 meter butterfly. And I don't think anyone was surprised to see Matthew Sorbe in lane 4 win this race, although it was a lot closer than I expected. Matt is your state champion.  Next up we have the first heat of the girl's 9-10 100 meter butterfly. And I'll draw your attention to lane 3 where the Rapid City Racers own Taylor Studer in the green suit wins the heat.  Now we'll take a look at the boys 9-10 100 meter butterfly. This heat is for all the marbles and coming down to the last 5 meters this race was really tight.  But Christopher Erickson touches the wall just seconds ahead of the competition.  Chris is your state champion.  We're going to finish things up with the girl's 11-12 100 meter butterfly.  Maddie Lavin pulled away early and never looked back.  She is your state champion.
