Class of '92 does community service during reunion

They graduated together 20 years ago and the Stevens High School Class of 19-92 has been reunited. They're banding together to help give back to their community, as well as to help a fellow classmate in need.

About 20 members of the former class ran a 3-mile 'toga run' to help raise money to benefit both Lutheran Social Services as well as Chris Ericks. Ericks lost his wife after a fatal motorcycle accident took her life on Tuesday. The former Stevens class says some of them may very well owe their lives to Ericks after a 1992 incident at the school.

Reunion coordinator Heidi Bybee says, "Chris holds a special place in our hearts because some of my classmates were held hostage at Stevens in 1992. Chris is the one who bravely disarmed that gunman, and so he's been a savior to us, and we want to be that back to him now and give back in every way he gave to us." Bybee says if you would like to make a donation to the Ericks family or Lutheran Social Services you can contact her at 348-2783.
