Soldiers become officers during Mount Rushmore ceremony

     They have certainly run through the paces and have been tested on their leadership skills. Friday all that hard work paid off.

     Soldiers from the Officer Candidate School Battalion 1-96th Regiment graduated Friday evening in the shadow of Mount Rushmore. The soldiers have been through a 58-day program to become 2nd Lieutenants in the Army National Guard.

     Training included simulated artillery and smoke to add intensity to the training. Part of that training took place at West Camp Rapid in Rapid City.
