New section of East Anamosa opened to traffic

Drivers in Rapid City now have one more option when it comes to getting around town. The barricades were taken down Friday morning on the newest stretch of East Anamosa Street.

East Anamosa now continues past Walmart on LaCrosse and connects with East North Street by Menards, which could save some a good amount of driving time.

Dale Tech says, "It's yet to be seen, but I think it's going to have a huge impact on giving people options in getting around this year, reduced traffic in some of the busier streets in the area and certainly give people in our large retail areas out here."

Tech says the new stretch of East Anamosa measures about 2,600 feet, and the project cost $7.2 million. That was paid for by a mix of federal, state and city dollars.
