The Homestake Adams Research and Cultural Center in Deadwood is a facility that holds documented history of the Black Hills. The center opened in June of last year and is home to research that is gaining interest from people around the world.

Director of Research and Interpretation Carolyn Weber says, "They're amazed at some of the things that we have here. We have really early documents from 1874; we even have a map from 1855 here. Then of course we have everything up until the current time, and it just covers a wide variety of interests that people have. So we have a lot of things that appeal to a lot of different people here."

Weber says it's encouraging to see people have such an interest in the history of the Black Hills. The center is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
