Wyo Theatre thriving

Sheridan is a city full of art and community members have worked hard over the years to ensure there's no shortage of live entertainment.  The Wyo Theater has been a part of the Sheridan community for decades.

Originally used as an old vaudeville house the building was turned into a movie theater in the 1940s and then was closed down in the late '70s and '80s.  During that time residents successfully raised money and campaigned to save the Wyo.  And today the theater is thriving and looking to expand.  Marketing Associate Erin Butler says, "What we would like to do is partner with Sheridan College and the city and create a larger space for theater, for their theater department, because they do not have a theater, but they have a theater department."  The expansion is simply a proposal with many pieces that still need to fall into place.
