The City of Box Elder is already looking to expand its newly opened City Hall. Friday morning, area leaders gathered for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to acknowledge the opening of the new city hall, police station and events center. The project has been in the works for quite some time, but Mayor Bill Griffiths says they aren't quite done yet.

Mayor Griffiths, "I've talked to a number of people about putting a learning center upstairs because most of our people here on the base and people that want to get a GED have to go down to Rapid City. This way they can come here. One part of it, we're going to try to have a youth and teen center upstairs."

The new facility is located on Villa Road a few blocks down from the city's old police station.

Griffiths says the city is already collecting funds and donations for the proposed learning center and youth center.
