The suspect in the murder of Morgan Myers in the Rapid City Wal-Mart parking lot on April 26th entered pleaded not guilty to murder Monday morning in Seventh Circuit Court. 30-year old Michael Young is charged with first-degree murder, fetal homicide, felony violation of a protection order and stalking. He pleaded not guilty to all of those charges. Young is accused of stabbing Myers, who was pregnant at the time, to death. Police say Young then ran to a nearby motel and stabbed himself. He was hospitalized until June. Young faces life in prison is he's convicted on either the murder or fetal homicide charges. Pennington County deputy state's attorney Scott Roetzel says the state is still researching the aggravating factors in the case before it decides if it will seek the death penalty on the murder charge. Judge Jeff Davis asked the state to try to make that decision by Young's next hearing on August 20th.
