Burn ban continues for much of the Black Hills
Saturday, 14 July 2012 15:13
The fire danger remains in the very high to extreme category for most of the Black Hills and it has fire crews reminding residents of continuing burn bans.

This was the scene yesterday as local volunteer fire departments were called out to several grass fires in the area. At least three more small ones reported today all due to lightning. With the dry conditions we've seen authorities say fires can start just too easily.

That's why bans on campfires, charcoal grills and wood burning stoves continue throughout the Black Hills Forest Fire Protection District. Rapid City continuing its ban on campfires as well. Firefighters are urging extreme caution as not only are conditions perfect for wildfire but resources have been stretched thin with so many fires burning throughout the region.
