White Draw fire 100-percent contained

After a tough week of fighting wildfires around the Black Hills rainfall Thursday night offered some welcomed relief.  On the White Draw Fire, burning near Edgemont, just over an inch of rain pretty much quenched most fire activity.

Firefighters already had the fire 95 percent contained before the rain fell, but the "copius" rain, as the fire management team put it, provided an end point for the firefighting efforts.  That fire is now 100 percent contained.  The final acreage estimate for the White Draw Fire is 9,000 acres.  Many of the firefighters have been demobilized and are getting ready for assignments to the other fires burning in the West.
