Post 22 falls in marathon to Missoula
Tuesday, 03 July 2012 15:53
We are coming down the final stretch of the annual Post 22 Firecracker tournament.  Tuesday evening, the Double Deuces sought to bounce back from Monday night's loss to Las Vegas and grab a win over Missoula, Montana.

Cody Carlson got the start as Post 2 tried to quiet the Missoula bats.  The first batter of the game is Tanner Reinschmidt, he sends a shot to center field but Greg Schaefer sells out and makes the sensational grab.  Bottom half of the inning now and the spark plug Jacob James gets things started with a bullet right back through the box.  A double play would erase James so with two outs the hottest hitter in town Greg Schaefer hammers the fastball over the leaping Tanner Maier. That balls gets into the alley, and Schaefer slides safely into second base with a double.  Then Jake Sullivan steps to the plate and sends a high fly ball in to right center field. Alex Aase sells out but can't come up with the grab.  Schaefer scores easily as Sullivan makes it back to back doubles and Post 22 goes on top early 1-0.But Post 22 falls in 10 innings of play, 6-to-5.
