Black Hills Roundup a popular Belle Fourche tradition
Friday, 29 June 2012 16:30
The annual Black Hills Roundup in Belle Fourche is gearing up for its 93rd year.  The Belle Fourche Chamber of Commerce says the Roundup is a proud tradition that nearly triples the town's population each summer.

The event includes the PRCA Rodeo, parades, concerts and a carnival.  The chamber says it's like taking a step back in time, and a great American experience.  Belle Fourche Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Teresa Schanzenbach says, "It's so steeped in tradition and there are so many families that return year after year to come back to the Black Hills Roundup, and that's what really makes it special because you'll see people on the streets that you haven't seen for a long time or they come back just once a year for this. But it also it, Belle Fourche, it's so engrained into the community that visitors that have never been to the rodeo feel like they're part of the community."  Several activities are already underway, including the carnival.  The rodeo action gets started Sunday fireworks are on July 3rd and a parade takes place on the 4th.  A full schedule can be found at black hills roundup dot com.
