Car lovers can catch a glimpse of America's last independent motor company at the Tripp Family Center of the Nation AMC Car Collection in Belle.  Ellis Tripp has built a collection of more than 30 cars made by the American Motors Corporation an independent manufacturer that operated from 1954 to 1987.

Tripp says AMC cars are unique and very special to him.  He says he gets all sorts of people who come in to look at his collection.  Tripp says, "Most of them that come in say, you know what my aunt had one just like that one over there or my uncle had one or my dad had one, you know, that's the big thing. But then the secondary thing is they're kind of amazed at the number of cars that are actually in here and the fact that most of them are original cars and they're in pretty nice shape."  All of Tripp's cars are licensed and he drives them all.  To set up a showing you can call Tripp at 641-9941.
