Rivals set for round 7 of Guns and Hoses Blood Drive
Monday, 25 June 2012 16:00
The rivalry is renewed Tuesday between the Rapid City Fire Department and the Rapid City Police Department.  Tuesday marks the start of a friendly competition between the two the Guns and Hoses blood drive.  The departments will be competing to see who can collect the most blood donations.

This year marks the seventh year for the event and after the last six the competition is all tied up, three to three.  Lt. Brent Long says, "I was thinking game 7 and all and 3 to 3 and just in a good show of camaraderie and sportsmanship, we'll probably defer to the police this year. We kind of want to make sure they come back next year and do this again for us."  Lt. Tom Senesac says, "Yeah, and we'll be doing the same."  Guns and Hoses will run through Friday by the Sears wing of the Rushmore Mall.  Police and Fire officials say donors will receive free t-shirts, along with some great food.
