Quarry fire under control
Thursday, 14 June 2012 12:08
As fire crews in Colorado and New Mexico deal with massive wildfires, firefighters in the Black Hills were able to get a hold of a small wildfire sparked yesterday before it spread.  The Quarry Fire near Black Hawk was fully contained Thursday morning.

Officials say it scorched about 7.5 acres, or less than a square mile.  Most of the land was in the Black Hills National Forest; less than an acre was privately owned. The fire was sparked by lightning. At no time were structures threatened.
