24/7 Program looking at moving to new building
Wednesday, 13 June 2012 12:25

Public comment just wrapped on the proposal to move the Pennington County 24-7 Program to a vacant building across from Rapid City's main fire station.  This location on Main Street is receiving praise from the city's chief of police and the county sheriff.  Several other locations have come under scrutiny because of their proximity to residential areas and parking issues.  Both the chief and sheriff say this location should eliminate all of those concerns.  24-7 is a court-mandated program where participants must report sometimes twice daily to monitor alcohol and drug consumption.  The sheriff's office says, at this point, about 250 people report both in the morning and evening.
