Oglala Lakota College battling Stone Child in the women's final of the American Indian Higher Education Consortium National Basketball Championships and Oglala would not be denied, Becka Ten Fingers and Alyssa Looks Twice leading the charge as Oglala claims the four-point victory. Off to the ice and the Rapid City Rush hosting Bloomington Monday night and the Rush showing some impressive early teamwork, Jessie Schultz with the beautiful feed to Shawn Limpright for the back-door goal, but the Rush will fall by a final of 5-to-3. Game two of the Rush hosting Bloomington on Tuesday night and Jake Morissette with a terrific showing against the Blaze. Morissette starts off potting the 2nd goal of the contest on a direct feed from Konrad Reeder, then two minutes later in the first, Reeder with the give once again to Morissette, it takes the 5-9 forward two takes to pound in his second of the game as the Rush rolls to a 4-nothing win. Black Hills State hosting the annual Yellow Jacket stampede and Taylor Williams defending the home turf brilliantly. He gets off to a good start, has a little difficulty getting the calf on the ground but finishes strong. He gets it done in 11.5 seconds. But Williams picks up All-Around Cowboy honors, leading Black Hills State to the team title as well. |
