| PIERRE, S.D. (AP) _ Gov. Dennis Daugaard has appointed two Fort Pierre men to the South Dakota Lottery Commission. Daugaard says Roger Novotny and Brent Dykstra will succeed Virginia Nelson of Rapid City and Duane Schmautz of Pierre. Novotny retired last year after seven years as director of the state Division of Banking. Dykstra was chief executive officer of First National Bank in Pierre for 25 years until semi-retirement two years ago. In a news release, Daugaard says both men bring an incredible amount of business and government experience to the state Lottery Commission. The state Senate must approve the appointments.
