Man who threatened officers with sword gets prison time
Tuesday, 07 February 2012 12:15
A Rapid City man is headed off to prison after a December incident involving a samurai-style sword. Judge Janine Kern handed down the two-year prison sentence on Monday to 48-year-old Arthur Hall.

Police say during the incident Hall was intoxicated in a hotel when he confronted officers with the sword.  Police say Hall appeared to be threatening and asked to be fatally shot. Police were then forced to subdue Hall with a less-than-lethal bean-bag shotgun. Ultimately Hall was charged with simple assault on the officers.
