Investigations continue into Wednesday fire, break-in
Thursday, 02 February 2012 12:25
Fire officials in Rapid City aren't saying much about the investigation into a fire on Skyline Drive Wednesday night. The fire broke out shortly before 7 p.m. The department says investigators are looking into what caused the blaze but aren't saying if it's suspicious in nature.

The fire burned about a quarter of an acre.

Meanwhile across county lines, investigators are trying to figure out who tried to break into an occupied home Wednesday in broad daylight. The Meade County Sheriff's Office says two people were at home at the time; one barricaded herself in the bathroom. When one of the occupants shot at the male suspect, authorities say the suspect left in a vehicle, possibly with a passenger. At this point, no one has been arrested.
