Dinner break for Stock Show
Wednesday, 01 February 2012 15:43
Cowboys and cowgirls took time away from the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo Thursday night to honor their fellow stockmen.  The 20th annual Stockman's Banquet and Ball was held Thursday night with more than 400 people in attendance.

The chairwoman of the event says it's a time to honor the Agri Business Person of the Year, Stockman of the Year, as well as the recipient of the Hall of Fame Award.  Chair Vicky Kirkeby says, "We want to recognize these people in the cattle industry that are contributing a lot to our community and to our state, and we also have it for a lot of fun reason because it's the one time of the year where everybody can get together and they see each other. It's kind of like old home week because it might be a year since they've seen each other and they get to do that tonight."  Kirkeby says they also honored youth in the business with scholarships.
